Wow, I haven't posted in a while. I have a lot of work due tomorrow and I have to wake up early for work but I decided to make a little post on here (I don't know if anyone will see it or not but that doesn't matter).
At 11:30 in the night, I was watching Ellen. See, before when I used to watch her, I used to get jealous. People like "DAMN DANIEL BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THEM WHITE VANS" or the "CASH ME OUSSIDE HOWBOWDAH" girl got famous and would be awarded $10,000 for the most random things. I would tell myself that I wanted to go on Ellen so that I could win money for doing not much.
However, I continued watching her videos. And I came across ones such as Kelly or Chris helping out a boy with autism. And I know this is cliche but something about her "Be kind" phrase kinda hit me. Especially Kelly though (check out the link below).
It is just so heartwarming and touching to see people giving back to each other with no other motives behind their actions. Living in a community where everyone takes things for granted, it is easy to get caught up in the fast paced lives. We always want the newest product and we are always at a competition with everyone around us to be better than everyone else. Yet, while doing so, we tend to overlook the small things that people are dealing with. So often, I see my parents and other families avoid eye contact with homeless people on the street so that they would not be bothered to give up money and so that they could avoid a potential threat.
Yet Kelly here does not worry about any of that. She and her warm heart are able to give boots to a woman who is in need of winter boots. And on top of that, the homeless person gave her a pair of her old boots because she cared about Kelly in return. And Kelly was never some rich woman with money to give out everywhere. She was just like you and me if not worse off. But it is her heart and what she truly wanted to do that made a difference in the lives of people, whether it be something as small as giving away flowers or cards to children whose parents were incarcerated or to hospitals.
Just last week, I attended an economics camp at Berkeley and we were told to select our five core values out of a list of 25 values. My number one was money. Everyone around me had more meaningful things such as relationships or integrity. Of course I care about these but I just felt like a terrible person for being so materialistic. I tried to justify this to myself, saying that I could give away the money to people who needed it if I had a surplus of money. Yet, now looking back at Kelly as an inspiration. Money does not actually matter that much. Honestly, I believe that if you can make someone else's day, it will make your day in return. Seeing a smile on another person's face because of what you did is just a WHOLE other feeling.
Overall, I have decided that when I grow up and I have my own money (not a lot, just my own money), I am going to start giving back no matter how rich I am. Even just something small like writing letters or baking cookies or making sandwiches or buying flowers and giving them out to people in foster homes, the military, the hospitals, and other organizations every holiday. I want to do it in person instead of trusting some organization to handle what I make. It just seems like a nice act that would make someone else's day and mine along with it. I think the world just need more people who care less about themselves materialistically but at the same time are driven to be the best that they can be so that they can help out those around them.
SOME OF YOU MAY ASK WHY NOT NOW: well the thing is that I think that it is really hard with parents and the environment around me. I am part of volunteer clubs and I love to volunteer but most people do this because they want to gain hours or get into college. I don't want to help out and have people use that as an excuse for college to discredit the meaning behind it but I will continue to help out genuinely through my clubs. Plus access is really hard and I cannot really drive at the moment oops.
BUT ANYWAYS sorry for this entire shpeel HAHA if anyone ever reads it oops cuz I don't think I am going to bother to read over it. I don't know why I didn't talk to my friends about this but I think it is because they might meme me or just laugh it off LOL. I guess this is something that I want to keep to myself but at the same time have known you know (if that makes ANY sense). It's late at night and I just feel super kind and happy about how fortunate I am and I really want to make a change in the lives of others. Maybe I am selfish because I want to feel better about myself but at least I can help out others in the way. Maybe other people will also be inspired after watching this video. Maybe no one will see this and they will continue on with their lives. At the end, I just wanna do this for me so that I can make the most out of what I have :))
So recently, people have been hating on the idea of me creating this site. But lemme tell y'all something:
Never put anyone down for following their hopes and dreams
Did that sound profound enough? I'm still trying to experiment with this whole Weebly thing. But anyways, I get that many of you may not appreciate my puns but just take this site with a laugh since that is what it is supposed to be u know. And stop using the contact page to send in hate. I know famous people get tons of hate so is this what it is like to be famous? ;) JK but trust me, just send in words to pun with and I will follow my passion and you can laugh along! SHOUTOUT to everyone who has supported me in this process since you guys are the real MVPs :)
And let me leave you guys with some fun positivity:
I know we all hate things and that is an inevitable part of us as human but if we all just focus on the better things in life then we can excel as a person! It's somewhat like how according to the Puritans, all humans are born sinners but they can take certain steps to help guarantee them into heaven.
SOOOO do not hate, appreciate! :)
I really do not know if this is a good idea seeing as it is 3:30 am (oh no how did I lose track of time) but here we are! Look forward (hopefully) to more puns, stories, jokes, facts, and more fun stuff :)
Message me or comment if you have any other suggestions of what I should do with this page.
Till next time,
Have a Punday Funday ;)
